Passage: Micah 7:7

I Will Wait For The God Of My Salvation

…I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me

(MICAH 7:7)

Our Heavenly Father, who art in heaven—I don’t want to look to myself or anywhere else to be saved, rather I only want to look to your beloved Son to be saved and be found in Him. LORD may He be found in me, for if Christ not be found in me, if I not be a new creature by the Gospel of your beloved Son, I have no hope; but if it be thy will Heavenly Father, Christ in me shall be my sure hope of glory, by your grace “I will wait for the God of my salvation.”

Our Heavenly Father, who art in heaven—grant that I may ever believe on your Son as the author and finisher of my salvation, grant that I may ever believe on your Son and wholly lean on Him for all my justification, all my sanctification, all my salvation [HEBREWS 12:2]
LORD, by your preserving power I will wait for Him, whom your Word very blessedly declares that it is His “to keep [me] from falling, and to present [me] faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.” Heavenly Father grant me grace to wait for the God of my salvation, indeed grant all of your beloved people at Sovereign Grace Church to do just that. Put us in Christ who is all our “wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (1 CORINTHIANS 1:30).

Beloved, by God’s grace and unspeakable gift we can all say “my God will hear me.” Where does this confidence come from? Where does this certainty come from? It comes from looking to and waiting for the Lord Jesus Christ; made know by His grace, how that we don’t come before our Heavenly Father in any self merit, but only through the merit of His beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Being heard of our Heavenly Father through the perfect and sinless life of Christ. Indeed, through His sin atoning blood God’s people are actually and really made righteous and redeemed.

Beloved, our standing, our acceptance with our Heavenly Father is found in Christ and Him alone. Believing sinner, we are accepted in the beloved Son of God. Our Heavenly Father accepts us upon the merits of His Son’s obedience unto death, even the death of the cross. Indeed, by His meritorious life and death we have been reconciled to God [2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-21, PHILIPPIANS 2:8]. Amen!

Reader, if you being evil know how to give good gifts to those you love…how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him? [MATTHEW 7:11].
