Passage: Luke 23:43 & Colossians 3:11

A beloved brother and faithful minister
in the Lord, shall make known to you all things

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee,
To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

(LUKE 23:43)

Brother Cody, (my pastor, my friend) ministered to me in so many, it seems to me now, innumerable ways. On one occasion, while driving to one of the villages, Cody asked me “How are things coming along?” Which I took to mean, ‘How was my sermon coming along?’, I found myself blurting out, as I thought about my poor outline, “I don’t have a message.” — I’ll never forget what my pastor said to me. He said “Joseph, you have the message. We have the message. Christ and Him crucified is the message.”

I have never forgotten the words of my faithful pastor — indeed for me and God’s people “a faithful minister of Christ” (COLOSSIANS 1:7,4:7). From that very day — whenever I catch myself bemoaning my inability, my poorly written outlines, or the poverty of my preaching, I’ve never forgotten what my pastor told me — “We have the message!” We have CHRIST! Brother Cody, my beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, indeed made known to me all things. CHRIST IS ALL! (COLOSSIANS 3:11)

Brother Cody was sent of the Lord to comfort our hearts and make known to me the gospel of my salvation. Brother Cody was a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, and indeed, made known to His people all things. (EPHESIANS 6:21)

Beloved, ‘to day’ our brother Cody is with his Lord. Amen!
