Passage: Revelation 17:14

Called, Chosen, and Faithful

Beloved, you are called. God our Father has declared “I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved” (ROMANS 9:25)

Beloved, you are chosen. God the Son, our blessed redeemer, has asked the Father in the covenant of grace — give me not the righteous to save, but sinners. He declares “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” (LUKE 5:32, PSALM 2:8)

Beloved, you are made faithful. God the Spirit, the comforter our Lord promised, has come to make it known to His people, that we are no longer servants to sin, but servants of the Lord. Beloved, our faithfulness, our righteousness is of Him who is always faithful, never fails, and has never sinned! Our Lord declares “
their righteousness is of me.” (ISAIAH 54:17, 2 CORINTHIANS 5:21)

May the Holy Spirit be pleased to quicken you, and make it known to you, that from the beginning He has chosen you to salvation and grant that you believe the truth as it is in our Lord Jesus. (2 THESSALONIANS 2:13, EPHESIANS 4:21) Beloved, He has called you, chosen you, and made you faithful through the merits of His beloved Son. (REVELATION 17:14)

Dear Lord, grant the sinner reading this article to know that they have been clothed in the white raiment of your Son’s righteousness. Lord, we know you will not blot out the names of your people from the book of life, but will confess each beloved sinner before your Father, and before his angels. Amen. (1 TIMOTHY 1:15, REVELATION 3:5)
