…it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, 
but of God that sheweth mercy

(ROMANS 9:16)

Salvation “...is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.” So reader, has God shown you mercy? If you can confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; He most certainly has [ACTS 8:26-40]. AMEN!

My friend, salvation is not found in believing doctrines, rather it is found, through God’s undeserved grace, by believing on His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Perhaps someone schooled in religion might ask you questions, like ‘Do you believe in Total Depravity? Do you believe in Unconditional Election, or Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, or Perseverance of the Saints?’ Believing doctrines won’t save you, rather you must believe Christ to be saved, and if you believe Him, you will believe His doctrine. Indeed, “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son” (2 JOHN 1:9). You see, the only doctrine, the only teaching, the only teacher that should matter to you, is Christ. And if you find yourself believing on the Son of God; He is your Lord and God and you will obey His gospel command: to confess Him in the waters of baptism and to remember Him at the Lord’s table.
