…he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy…

(ZEPHANIAH 3:17)

Beloved, our Lord and God “will save.” Not only shall He save, but “He will save!” He gave Himself as our sacrifice, voluntarily, in the Covenant of Grace. To save us from our sinful nature, our sins, Satan, the Law, hell, and the Holy wrath of God. Believing sinner, sooner or later He will deliver us out of ALL our troubles.

Beloved, “He will rejoice over thee with joy!” I must admit, it is difficult to understand how God can rejoice over a believing sinner like you and a believing sinner like me. But as the bridegroom rejoices over his bride at the wedding, so Christ rejoices over His people. Beloved, we shall stand before Him on that Great Day, and He will publicly rejoice over us. Indeed, all of God’s people will be able to say with our brother Isaiah “I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” (ISAIAH 61:10).
