Passage: 1 Corinthians 1:30

Of God

…of HIM are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption

(1 CORINTHIANS 1:30)

The Word of God declares “of Him are ye in Christ Jesus.” Now, what evidence is there that I am in Christ? Can I know that by looking at myself? No! The only evidence is that I believe Christ.

Beloved, salvation is found in a person, Christ Jesus the Lord, and the only evidence that I’m saved is that I am, right now as I type these words, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ with all my salvation; in fact He is my only hope of being saved. That’s the evidence that I am in Christ, united with Him.

God’s word further declares “who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” Now, what evidence is there that Christ has been made my wisdom, my righteousness, my sanctification, and redemption? What evidence is there that my mountain of sin and iniquity has been cast into the depths of the sea to be remembered no more? Do I look at my works? Do I look to see how I compare with other people? No! Beloved, don’t let the despising of religious hypocrites move you to look to yourself; for you won’t see your salvation by looking to yourself, just as surely as the murmuring unbeliever won’t see it. The only evidence that God has saved me and united me to His Son; is found in this, I believe Christ, for saving faith is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (HEBREWS 11:1). [Read—JEREMIAH 31:34, MICAH 7:19, HEBREWS 8:12]

King David, what kind of man are you? Adulterer! Deceiver! Murderer! (PSALM 51:1-14) “What must I do to be saved?” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, singing aloud of His righteousness, of His only! [Read PSALM 7:17, 71:16]

Beloved, Christ Jesus is our “all, and in all” (COLOSSIANS 3:11). To you who believe on Christ, “ye are complete in Him.” All our wisdom, all our righteousness, all our sanctification, all our redemption is of the Lord and that beloved, so that we may do according as it is written—glory in the Lord (1 CORINTHIANS 1:31).

Beloved, “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (PHILIPPIANS 2:12) Our Salvation is of God. AMEN!
