Passage: Hebrews 3:12 & Hebrews 6:7-9

Take Care

Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God — HEBREWS 3:12

According to the WORD OF GOD it is only an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living GOD. Yes, some erroneously read other passages in the book of Hebrews and wrongly conclude that a regenerate heart, a new heart given by GOD, could fall away; but our blessed LORD JESUS does not teach that, and it is to HIM I wish to draw your attention. Beloved, our salvation is found in CHRIST and anchored upon hearing and believing HIM.

…ground that drinks the rain…brings forth vegetation useful to those for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God — but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and close to being cursed, and it ends up being burned — beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation… — HEBREWS 6:7,8,9

Thorns and thistles are things that do not accompany salvation.  When someone believes on the LORD JESUS CHRIST they have salvation, they hath everlasting life.  The true convert is one who will persevere to the end, by HIS enabling Spirit.  From A to Z, from beginning to end, salvation is of the LORD. Someone who has been given a new and opened heart cannot and will not lose their salvation, for our LORD is the author and finisher of it. (JONAH 2:9, ACTS 16:14, JOHN 3:36, JOHN 10:27)

Beloved, our LORD JESUS only spoke of two groups of people in the world, those who are ‘HIS sheep’ and those who are ‘not MY sheep’. The LORD, in all of his parables, taught of only two groups of people; those who claim to have GOD as their father and those who actually do. (JOHN 8:41-44)

When our LORD speaks of those who believe for a time, HE is not equating that with the saving faith HE gives to His elect, as the demons also believe and are not saved (LUKE 8:13).  HIS sheep hear his voice and follow HIM; indeed to the very end, for they are kept by HIS power. (1 PETER 1:5)

The scriptures plainly teach of only two groups of people in the world, ‘MY sheep’ and ‘not MY sheep’.  Those who have ears to hear and those who do not. Those who are born again and those who have merely had a false conversion experience in the free will religion of man.  Those who can not and will not believe CHRIST, and those that have been made willing in the day of HIS power to will and to do of HIS good pleasure. (PSALM 110:3)

There are only two categories of people in the church. Those who believe for a time and because of an evil, unbelieving heart fall away from the living GOD, and those who are actually born from above, GOD’s beloved people. When GOD gives you a new heart, I pray it is so with the reader, HE gives you a new heart that will believe to the end, because it is a recipient of divine power that makes us the sons of GOD. A new birth that is not by the ‘power’ of the flesh, but blessed be the LORD, a birth that we must have by the power of HIS spirit. (JOHN 1:12-13, JOHN 3:6-7)

It is only the evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living GOD. Contrary to what some teach, those born from above cannot lose their salvation. Anyone who teaches such blasphemy has never heard the voice of our dear LORD.

...I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand — JOHN 10:27

GOD’s people rejoice in this “…all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen”; Beloved, what a comforting promise, that His own shall never perish! (2 CORINTHIANS 1:20)

Reader, I pray you do indeed receive and believe the words of the LORD you profess. If you are HIS sheep, you will keep HIS word. (JOHN 17:6)
