Passage: Psalm 37:23

The Delight of God’s People

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in His way

(PSALM 37:23)

What is the delight of God’s people? It is Christ! It is His blessed person “He who has seen me has seen the Father” (JOHN 14:9), He is the Word made flesh.

Reader, if you believe Him, you have been made to see Him by God’s unspeakable gift. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (EPHESIANS 2:8).

What is the delight of God’s people? It is Christ himself! Beloved, our salvation is by His finished work, He said “It is finished” (JOHN 19:30). And everything I need, everything you need to be reconciled to God, He accomplished. By the sinless life He lived out on our behalf as a man, He established our righteousness on the earth, and He gave His righteous life as a blood atoning ransom to put away all our sins by the sacrifice of Himself.

I cry out to God’s Jerusalem, Beloved, the warfare of your salvation is accomplished, your iniquity is pardoned: you have received of the LORD’S hand double for all your sins! (ISAIAH 40:1-2).

If you are born from above, you’ll take no delight in yourself, rather, all your delight will be found in Christ—in Him and Him alone.

Beloved when we…

“...survey the wondrous cross where

the young Prince of Glory died,

[and your] and my richest gain
[we] will count but loss,

and pour contempt on all our pride.”

Our delight beloved, is Christ and Him crucified! Where is our delight found? It is found in the Lord Jesus Christ; for in Him we find a full and complete pardon of all our sins, and His perfect righteousness is made to be ours. Beloved, we are complete in Him. AMEN! (COLOSSIANS 2:10).
