And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go

(EXODUS 5:2)

Though it is true that Pharaoh did not know the Lord, his words here profess much more than just that. Pharaoh is really saying, “Who or what is your God to me that I should obey Him or care what He says?” This is the attitude of the non-believing world today. Natural men and women have no fear of God because they do not know Him nor do they care to know Him.

Unregenerate people don't care who the Bible declares God to be and they have no interest In obeying His voice or commandments. Why? They do not know Him and they say in their hearts, if not with their voice, “Who is the Lord that I should obey Him?” But they will one day soon face the same end that Pharaoh did. “For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth” (ROMANS 9:17). God will receive ail the glory in the salvation of His people and yet He will also receive all the glory in those whose hearts and minds bear enmity towards Him [PSALM 76:10].

What do you think of Christ? He is God the Son who holds the kings heart in His hand and turns it how, where, and when He pleases. Knowing Him is eternal life and not knowing Him is eternal death and condemnation (1 JOHN 5:12). You might not care right NOW who He is, but I promise you according to the Word of God that one day you will!
