Passage: 2 Corinthians 1:20 & Jonah 2:9

Yea and Amen

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us

(2 CORINTHIANS 1:20)

The worst denomination in the world, a denomination that if you be a member of it, will most assuredly send you to hell. What is the name of this cursed denomination? The limited space of this bulletin does not permit me to list its many names, but know this, it’s poisonous creed is yea and nay. And not the gospel of yea and amen; “For all the promises of God in CHRIST JESUS our Lord are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God.” (2 CORINTHIANS 1:20)

What a contrast between the yea and amen of God’s people and that of the yea and nay of those who have yet to hear the voice of our Lord and God, Jesus Christ. Our Lord declares “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and THEY SHALL NEVER PERISH”! What is the response of your heart beloved? It is not Yea and Amen? Praise the Lord, He gives us salvation, and that—never to be revoked! (ROMANS 11:29)

If you are God’s beloved child, it will certainly not be the yea and nay of the unbelieving free-willer. Unbelief, wherever it may be found, is always saying within the stone cold heart of unbelief—yea and nay to all the precious promises of God in Christ.

They hear our Gospel, that you are complete in Him, and yet cannot receive or rest in the glad tidings of our salvation in Christ, and they say “nay, you need to do this and that to be saved”!

They hear our blessed Lord say, “I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish,” and the confessors of this soul condemning creed say, “nay, if you do this or that you will lose your salvation.”

Well, the only thing they ought to lose is the delusion that they have any part in their salvation; for salvation—whether it be it’s beginning or it’s finishing—Salvation is of the LORD (JONAH 2:9). Beloved, look “unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (HEBREWS 12:2)

CHRIST is the author and finisher of the saving faith of God’s people. It is the gift of God, the faith that is not of ourselves that saves us. Beloved, the certainty of our hope, the sure hope that we are saved is found in the sure promises of God our Heavenly Father; as we look to the faithfulness, the uprightness, indeed the saving power of the blood and righteousness of His dear Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 PETER 1:5, EPHESIANS 2:8)

Our Lord declares “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” YEA and AMEN! Friend, be sure you come to Him who shall save His people from their sins, else you shall perish in yours. (MATTHEW 1:21, JOHN 8:24)
