The Bible

The Bible is not a book of “how to do things.” It is not a map, or a calendar of events, or a code of conduct. It is not a book of science, morality, history, politics, or law. It is a book of prophecy, church creed, and theology. It is a Book that speaks of CHRIST in its totality. From its beginning to its end it is a declaration of the redemptive glory of GOD in CHRIST. Remove the preeminence of CHRIST from the Bible and we only have another book. To use the Bible for some other thing other than to testify of CHRIST crucified is to misuse the Word of GOD.

We are not only to preach the Book—we are sent by GOD to preach the message of the Book, and the message of the Book is JESUS CHRIST and HIM crucified. There is not a page of the Bible that does not speak of Him.

The Old Testament Scriptures speak of CHRIST, they show us CHRIST, and call us to faith in CHRIST. From the moment that GOD said in the Garden of Eden that the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head, CHRIST was the leading figure of the Old Testament prophecy.

(GENESIS 3:15) “…I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”

Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon, and all the prophets testify of Him.

(JOHN 5:39) “…the scriptures; …testify of me.”

(LUKE 24:27) “…beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.”

(LUKE 24:44) “…he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.”
