Passage: John 14:6
Duration:2 mins 23 secs

“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”

I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

(John 14:6)

One of the readers of our bulletin recently asked me, “I was wondering if you could post an article in your next bulletin that outlines the steps of salvation.” Now, immediately upon reading that, what leapt to my heart and mind was this: Beloved, salvation is not found in our steps, but rather in a person, in the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Lord said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Don’t miss that blessed word, “ME.” You see, my friend, salvation is found in Christ. And someone will ask, “What about my doubts?” My friend, it is the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ that saves us; it’s not our faithfulness, but ever so blessedly His. You see, God’s elect are “kept by the power of God through faith [that is, through Christ’s faithfulness] unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time” (1 Peter 1:5).

The Word of God declares as clear as words can convey that Christ is “the author and finisher of our faith.” On the earth, upon the cross of Calvary, the shout of our victorious King is heard declaring that our salvation, “is finished” [Numbers 23:21, John 19:30]. And in glory, the King of kings, and Lord of lords, the Alpha and Omega of our salvation, declares the victory again, “It is done!” (Revelation 21:6).

My believing friend, tell everyone you know; family, friends, and every enemy: salvation is in a person, and His name is the Lord Jesus Christ, and whosoever calls on His name shall be saved. While the natural man may cry, “What must I do to be saved?” By God’s grace, His faithful servants declare again and again, salvation is not found in steps, it’s not found in doing, but ever so blessedly in believing on Him who God sent into the world to save sinners. Reader, are you a sinner? Then rejoice with me, for “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” Amen.
