Passage: Matthew 11:28 & Romans 11:29

Come Unto Christ and Rest

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.

(MATTHEW 11:28)

Our Lord declares the gospel of our sure salvation, when he tells us, that He gives us eternal life, and it shall never to be revoked! [Read JOHN 10:27, ROMANS 11:29]

Our Lord declares “My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me, and I give them eternal life, and they shall never, perish.” What’s the response of our hearts beloved? Is it not? That “all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen!” (2 CORINTHIANS 1:19-20)

If you are God’s beloved, the response of your heart will certainly not be the 'yea and nay' of the religious free-willer, nor the ‘ya, but’ of their unbelief!

That denomination of unbelief, whatever it’s name, is always saying ‘yea and nay’ to all the promises of God. They hear ‘you are complete in CHRIST’ but they cannot come unto Christ and rest. They say ‘ya but, you need to do this or you need to do that to be saved.’ [Read COLOSSIANS 2:10, ROMANS 4:5, HEBREWS 12:2]

They hear our dear Lord say that His people “will never perish” and the members of this soul condemning denomination say, ‘ya, but, if you do this or if you do that, you’ll lose your salvation.’ [JOHN 10:27, MATTHEW 1:21]

Well, tell your unbelieving friend the only thing they ought to lose is the delusion they have any part in their salvation; for Christ is the author and finisher of the faith of God’s people. Indeed, through the doing and dying of the Lord Jesus Christ, He is the author and finisher of our salvation!

Beloved, the certainty of our hope, the sure hope, the hope that we are saved, is found in His sure promises. He declares “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (JOHN 6:35-40)

We who believe on Christ, indeed we who love Him, are made to know He shall not fail to save His people. For we love and believe His very own words, that all which the Father has given Him to save (every elect sinner He purposed to save by His grace in Christ) shall be saved! Our Lord declares “…this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.” And All God’s people say yes Lord, and come unto Him and rest. Amen!
