Passage: Matthew 11:28-30 & Acts 4:12

Come Unto Me

Come unto me, all ye that labour
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

(MATTHEW 11:28)

When Christ declares “Come unto me,” it is not a suggestion, it is not an offer, rather it is His gospel command to those for whom He has authored eternal salvation. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Friend, when you come to the author of eternal life, indeed the author of eternal salvation, there is nothing to do but to faint into His loving saving arms.

Friend, let us not forget the Holy Spirit’s instruction, “Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it!” God give you grace to do just that. Our Lord commands those who shall and must obey Him “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (MATTHEW 11:28-30)

Friend, come to God’s Priest, come to God’s King, Christ Jesus who is “a priest after the order of Melchisedec.” God’s word records for us in the book of Acts, regarding the Lord Jesus Christ, that there is no “salvation in any other” for there is salvation only through God’s priest, the Lord Jesus Christ—“for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (ACTS 4:12). AMEN!
