Passage: Hebrews 2:3 & John 10:28

Great Salvation

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him

(HEBREWS 2:3)

This verse delivers a faithful warning to those who neglect this great salvation, and also affords much comfort to those who are not neglecting this great salvation; indeed, saving comfort for those who are not neglecting our great Saviour, Christ Jesus the Lord.

Shall we perish, if we are not neglecting this great Saviour and His salvation? Impossible. For if the love of God has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost, once given in salvation, it is never taken back! (ROMANS 11:29) Anchored in Christ—nothing can harm God’s people—as Paul puts it ever so blessedly, neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Believing sinner, without a doubt you are safe in Christ, for all the attributes of God are engaged for your salvation. For He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ [PHILIPPIANS 1:6]. Indeed, you who believe on Christ, are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation—through the faithfulness and righteousness of God’s only Son; nothing shall separate us from His love for our Lord declares, I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand
and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand (JOHN 10:28).

So certain is the salvation of His people, that He says of them, though “some of you shall they cause to be put to death”, our Lord declares—“But there shall not an hair of your head perish”—Oh the astonishing wonder of His preserving power!—Lord I believe it, help my unbelief! (LUKE 21:16,18)

Friend, may this salvation be yours! May this blessedness be yours in all its fulness, may He be pleased to make known to you that He is faithful till that appointed time when, if you’re His, your life in Christ shall be translated from this fallen world to the world of His kingdom, He will keep you! [1 PETER 1:5]

God has spoken to us by His Son, and He declares to His people Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. AMEN!
