…one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

(LUKE 10:42)

Beloved believing sinner of God, one thing is needful! What a blessing it is to read what we so desperately need, has been given! and further beloved—what has been given shall never be taken away!

Dear reader, the only one thing that is needful is the Lord Jesus Christ. As God the Holy Spirit makes known to us through His servant John, “He that hath the Son hath life…” (1 JOHN 5:12), indeed eternal life. And once He is given, through faith, the unspeakable gift of God—He is forever given—never to be taken away! (2 CORINTHIANS 5:21, ROMANS 11:29)

Reader, can it be that only one thing is needful? Yes! only one thing is needful to be washed clean of all your sins! Only one thing is needful to be made the very righteousness of God. Consider God’s own blessed testimony of the Gospel of His beloved Son:

“BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, and thou shalt be saved” (ACTS 16:31).

“ONE THING THOU LACKEST: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and FOLLOW ME” (MARK 10:21).

“…This is the work of God, that ye BELIEVE ON HIM WHOM HE HATH SENT” (JOHN 6:29).

“…here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? And Philip said, if thou BELIEVEST WITH ALL THINE HEART, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD” (ACTS 8:36-37).

Reader, do you find yourself believing on the Lord Jesus Christ? Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift! For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of [yourself]: it is the gift of God! [EPHESIANS 2:8-10]

If God has given you grace to receive, indeed, grace to believe on the one thing that is needful Jesus Christ the Son of God, He will never be taken away from you! For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, indeed you have His very own word on it! Our Lord declares of His elect; “I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one.” (JOHN 10:28-30). AMEN!
