Saved And Called

… as many as were ordained to eternal life believed

(Acts 13:48)

We read in Revelation 18 verse 4, “And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.’” Of course, this is in reference to the Whore of Babylon, the Harlot of all false religion, ‘Come out of her!’ The only way any of us can come out of her, beloved, is by God’s grace, by that effectual call, because He’s already purposed to save us. Is that not what we read in 2nd Timothy 1 verse 9? I love the order there, don’t you? ‘The Gospel according to the power of God, who saved us’; that’s what happened first beloved. When did that happen? Before the foundation of the world, before any of us were born, God purposed to save us and then He called us with a holy calling. You see, it’s not God trying to call us, He calls us with an effectual, holy calling—and we’re not saved by works that we’ve done, but we’re saved by God’s grace and purpose, the grace He’s purposed to give us in Christ Jesus before the world began.’ We read in 2 Timothy 1 verse 9, it is God, “Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:9-10). AMEN!
