Passage: Revelation 5:9

Thou Hast Redeemed Us

…they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood…

(REVELATION 5:9)

Who are they who shall sing the new song of redemption…?

Who are they who shall sing in heaven “…thou…hast redeemed us?”

…those who are chosen of GOD

“…he hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love” (EPHESIANS 1:4).

…those who are saved and called of GOD

“God…hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began” (2 TIMOTHY 1:8-9).

…those who are taught and drawn of GOD

“No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto Me” (JOHN 6:44-45).

Who are they who shall sing this new song of redemption…?

Who are they who shall sing in heaven “…thou…hast redeemed us?”

…those who confess the LORD JESUS CHRIST by faith

“…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon Him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (ROMANS 10:9-13).

…those who look for mercy in the LORD JESUS CHRIST by faith

“…the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner” (LUKE 18:13).

…those who have no confidence in their works and look only to HIS work

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity” (MATTHEW 7:21-23).

Beloved, who is worthy…?

…our LORD JESUS CHRIST alone is worthy, for in Him we have redemption through His blood

“…according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved. In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (EPHESIANS 1:6-7).

…our LORD JESUS CHRIST alone is worthy, who took away our eternal death and has given us His eternal life

“…made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 TIMOTHY 1:10, [JOHN 10:27]).

…our LORD JESUS CHRIST is worthy, for He is all our salvation

“…of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let Him glory in the Lord” (1 CORINTHIANS 1:30-31).

Beloved, we didn’t do a thing to save ourselves, rather the LORD did it all; indeed He is all our salvation and our sure hope of glory. AMEN!
