...by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.

Beloved believing sinner, our God’s love is immutable. His counsel is immutable. His promise is immutable, for it is impossible for Him to lie. And He has promised “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out” (JOHN 6:37). That is to say this believing sinner; you who have fled for refuge in Christ, patiently endure—wait on the LORD and HE SHALL SAVE THEE. He has promised and He will also do it. Our Lord declares “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.” (JOHN 6:47) Beloved, wait on the sure and steadfast immutability of His counsel and oath. Indeed wait on our sure and steadfast Lord Jesus—for He shall save His people from their sins. Amen.
