Then said they unto him, ‘What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?'

(JOHN 6:28)

Our Lord gives us the life giving answer to that question—“What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?” “Believe on the one God sent!” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ! [JOHN 6:28-29]

Reader, how will you do that? By the grace of God in Christ given to us before the foundation of the world. By the grace of God His people are hid in the Ark of their salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Beloved, you have been put in Christ—the Ark of your salvation, and we say to those who are hearing the gospel this morning, flee to Christ, flee today. Believe on Him right now! Perhaps you have left this building in the past without coming to Christ, without laying hold of Him by faith, but I trust if you have received God’s grace in Christ, you’ll come running now. I need a savior right now. Coming to Christ is believing on Christ every present moment. Lord, if I have not loved you before—let me love you today. If I have not come to Christ Jesus your Son before, let me come to Him today. If I have not laid hold of Christ before, I beg you, let me lay hold of Him now, and ever more.

Friend, Christ is the only savior. Christ Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (JOHN 14:6). Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved! Amen.
