Passage: Acts 16:22 & 1 Corinthians 6:11

Why Tarriest Thou?

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord

(ACTS 22:16)

Believing sinner of God, have you confessed Christ in believer’s baptism? All of God’s people can say with the apostle James “you show me your faith without your works...and I’ll show you my faith by my works.” Reader, if you’ve been justified, if you’ve been sanctified, you’ll “arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” When we have been made to know that Christ is all of our justification, all of our sanctification, indeed all of our salvation, we will confess Him, knowing He has washed away all our sins. And beloved we are continually washed, ever looking to that perpetual sin cleansing fount of the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Beloved believing sinner, “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (1 CORINTHIANS 6:11) AMEN!
